The Garrisons in Scotland
are to be reduced from
the 24th of this Mounth
to their former Establishment,
viz 5o men for dumbarton
I shall send the order
in A [¿] or two.
I would have you consider
& consult Which of
the men to discharge
& pray let all poſsible
care be taken that there
may be no clamour or
I believe it will be of great

service to me if you went
to dumbarton upon this
occasion poor ſuccoth
being in such A weak
condition. I am now
in hast this [¿].
I have just got the order
& send it you inclosed.
Tell my mother shee may
direct the [¿] to David
Campbell as formerly.
I expect to morrow that
there will be orders to clear
of the Garrisons to the
24th of this month.
